SYNOPSIS:
Harnessing the power of the sun to announce the arrival of a breakfast titan to lunch and dinner time.
When Jimmy Dean asked for a fun way to announce their first foray into lunch and dinner meals, we had an idea - what if we used the sun - which is ubiquitous to their brand - to make the announcement for us?
To do that, we created an installation called Sun Cinema - a kinetic sculpture made up of household kitchen items - that sprang to life when the sun moved into position at noon (lunchtime) and 5PM (dinner). When the light hit the right angle, the sculpture would project light and cast shadow to create little animated stories, and transmit them onto social media in the form of solar-powered GIF's.
The sculpture, developed in partnership with Fake Love, was experienced by over 300,000 people in person during it's run. and the solar-powered GIF's by 500,000+ more across social media.
