SYNOPSIS:
Reimagining the tradition of holiday storytime with the help of 'the world's greatest dad,' Neil Patrick Harris.
“The Holiday Odyssey: Three Kids, a Dog and an Epic Quest to Light a Ridiculously Giant Tree” is an interactive illustrated children’s book created for Target as a way to bring families together during the holidays. The fifty-two page adventure, narrated by Neil Patrick Harris, took families on an adventure unlike any other, familiarizing them with the most sought-after gifts of the season, and culminated in the most profitable holiday season ever for the brand.
The experience was illustrated by Ryan Clark of Invisible Creature fame, and interactivity was brought to life by the fine folks at Media Monks.
To get the word out, on TV and onlone, we came up with a short teaser called "Bullseye can't read", starring none other than Bullseye the dog.
The campaign was a great success, leading to over 120,000 families going on the Holiday Odyssey, culminating in over 20,000 hours of reading time, and winning multiple interactive awards in the process. If you'd like to experience the story in it's entirety, you can watch it below.
